India’s CIL produces 40.97 mil mt coal in May, short of target
1,683views 2015-06-03 10:23Indian state-run Coal India Ltd., or CIL, missed its output target for May by producing 40.97 million mt of coal against the targeted 41.78 million mt, CIL said Monday in regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The May output was up 13% year on year.
In the first two months of fiscal 2015-16 (April-March), CIL produced 82.49 million mt of coal, exceeding a target of 82.31 million mt, it said. The April-May output rose 12% year on year.
Coal offtake, or dispatches, during May was at 43.74 million mt against the target of 45.69 million mt. For April-May, the coal offtake was 87.29 million mt against the target of 91.9 million mt.
CIL did not give reasons for missing the output and offtake targets.
